Planning to visit a San Joaquin County park soon? Expect to pay more for some amenities.

As part of the fiscal year 2024-2025 budget, the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors approved a new fee schedule for county parks that will raise facility prices this summer.

The new schedule, which goes into effect on July 1, will increase prices to facility rentals at Shumway Oak Grove Regional Park in Stockton and Micke Grove Regional Park in Lodi. Other fees, including camping and parking rates, will remain the same, according to county officials.

The 300-seat Memorial Auditorium and Solarium at Micke Grove received the largest increase for its holiday and weekend rate, jumping from $950 to $1,250. Some facilities, including the Japanese Garden at Micke Grove and Oaks Pavilion at Shumway Oak Grove, will see a $100 price increase. However, fees at the majority of the facilities will rise by $25.

Despite inflation and rising maintenance costs, county officials said prices for most of the facilities had remained the same since 2012. The new schedule brings fees in line with similar facilities at comparable agencies.
