    The world's best athletes will gather in Paris this year all in the hopes of representing their country and bringing home gold during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

    San Joaquin County is crawling with Olympic athletes who represent the 209, joining the many athletes who have competed over the thousands of years that the Olympic Games have been around.

    This year’s games will feature basketball legend and St. Mary’s girls' basketball alum Chelsea Gray who will compete on the USA Basketball Women’s National Team. From basketball to swimming, the Stockton area is filled with some of the world’s best athletes.

    Here is a list of those who competed in the Olympic Games in the past ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony on July 26.

    Bob Chow

    Sport: Shooting

    Country: USA

    Notes: Competed in the 1948 Summer Olympics in the 25m pistol event.

    Kyra Christmas

    Sport: Water polo

    Country: Canada

    Notes: Competed in the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo. She is originally from Canada but attended the University of the Pacific.

    Nicole Davis

    Sport: Volleyball

    Country: USA

    Notes: Competed in the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympic Games and is a two-time silver medalist.

    Balazs Erdelyi

    Sport: Water polo

    Country: Hungary

    Notes: Competed in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games and was eliminated in the quarterfinals. He attended Pacific but is originally from Hungary.

    Frederick Feary

    Sport: Boxing

    Country: USA

    Notes: Competed in the 1932 Summer Olympics and won a bronze medal.

    Cathy Ferguson

    Sport: Swimming

    Country: USA

    Notes: Competed in the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo and was a two-time gold medalist.

    Conn Findlay

    Sport: Rowing and sailing

    Country: USA

    Notes: Competed in the 1956, 1960, 1964 and 1976 Olympic Games and captured four gold and two bronze medals across the two sports.

    Chelsea Gray

    Sport: Basketball

    Country: USA

    Notes: Competed in the 2020 Toyko Olympic Games and won a gold medal.

    Sport: Basketball

    Country: Puerto Rico

    Notes: Competed in the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Toyko.

    Notes: Competed in the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, Quebec, and won a gold medal.

    Notes: Competed in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games where the team finished in tenth place. Originally from Loomis, CA but attended Pacific.

    Notes: Competed in the 1964 Winter Olympic Games in the men’s downhill event.

    Roderick Townsend-Roberts

    Sport: Track and field

    Country: USA

    Notes: Competed in the 2016 and 2020 Summer Paralympics and is a three-time gold and one-time silver medalist. He will be competing in the Paris 2024 Summer Paralympics, which will start on Aug. 28.

    Sport: Water polo

    Country: USA

    Notes: Competed in the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Toyko. He was born in Nevada but attended and graduated from Pacific.

    Goran Tomasevic

    Sport: Water polo

    Country: Australia

    Notes: Competed in the 2020 Summer Olympic Games and is originally from Australia but attended Pacific.

    Gabe Vincent

    Sport: Basketball

    Country: Nigeria
