For the next month, the Stockton City Council is not scheduled to meet, according to the city calendar.

However, all other city functions remain open, the interim city clerk said Friday.

"You may find many of the personnel who primarily support council taking their vacations during this time, but we are all still open," interim Clerk Katherine Roland said.

But council members often schedule a summer recess when they pass the meeting schedule each year, city spokesperson Connie Cochran said. The council last met July 9.

While the full council is on a break, committees made up of council members will continue to meet based on committee members' availability, according to Cochran.

Committee meeting dates are posted here.

Citizens' boards and commissions will also continue meeting, according to Roland.

Commission meeting details are posted here.

The Stockton City Clerk's office is urging residents to apply to the city's 21 boards and commissions, which are tasked with advising the city council on a variety of issues.

A description of each commission as well as application information can be viewed here.
