Christmas in July returns to Pixie Woods in Stockton Saturday

Santa Claus is making a stop this weekend at Pixie Woods Children's Park for the annual Christmas in July event.

Holiday cheer will overflow from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 27 at the children's amusement park at 3121 Monte Diablo in Stockton.

"Celebrate Christmas in July. Santa will make a special summer appearance at the enchanted forest of Pixie Woods," the city of Stockton website states. "Bring out your creativity at the arts and craft table and enjoy special entertainment."

The park will remain open after Christmas in July until 4 p.m., according to the Pixie Woods board. General admission is $6, the city's website states. Children 2 years old and under enter free.

Earlier this year, the children's amusement park celebrated 70 years.

"Pixie Woods opened up in 1954, so this is a great day for us," Mary Pennini, Pixie Woods board member president told The Record in May . "We're really proud that the park is still running ... There are not too many organizations around that have lasted that long. Thank God for the community to continue to do this."

Carnival games, a magic show and themed characters were all part of the celebration, the city's website stated prior to the event.

• 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends only in September
• 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends only in October
• The park closes in November through April

"For 70 years, Pixie Woods has captivated children's imaginations with numerous play structures based on children's books, fairytales, and nursery rhymes," the city's website states.
