    Applications now open to help name three new Stockton parks

    (FOX40.COM) — Stockton residents have the opportunity to weigh in on the naming of three new city parks , according to the City of Stockton.

    The three parks are located at:
    • Corner of Westlake and Scott Creek Drives
    • Valens Way and Orbison Lane
    • Parliament Street and Skynard Way

    The city is looking for names that honor people who served the Stockton community for over 25 years, reflect the topography of the area, or convey a historical element of the city.

    Residents have until 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 30 to submit their name suggestions before they are passed onto a naming committee.

    The committee will be made up of members from various commissions, boards and departments within the city.

    Once the committee has reviewed the names they will pass their recommendations to the Stockton City Council. To submit a suggested park name, click here .
