    Storms sweep across Missouri overnight; Barton and Cedar County

    FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM MONDAY

    WHERE : Barton, Dade, Vernon, Cedar, Polk, Hickory and St Clair.

    Stockton City Park, Stockton, Mo. Ford Focus washed into flood waters.

    CEDAR COUNTY, Mo. (KOAM) — 7-inches of rain in Stockton, Mo. overnight into Sunday. Stockton Branch Creek runs through Stockton City Park and it flooded the whole park. A car was washed off into creek from Stockton Motor Company. Ford Focus was found destroyed under the bridge in swift waters at Walnut and North Street.

    Neighbors tell is the car wasn't running. It was at the back of the property as a parts car.

    Nearby Caplinger Mills is closed to canoeing from Sac River Flooding.

    There is a Flood Warning in this area until tomorrow morning.

    MO-126 CLOSED JUST WEST OF I-49 AT NORTH FORK SPRING RIVER

    Water is 2-feet over Mo-126 at North Fork Spring River in Barton County.

    BARTON COUNTY, Mo. (KOAM) — Saturday into Sunday the Lamar, Mo area 2-inches of rain.

    “Hwy 126 to the west of I-49 and N Main St/ SW 1st Lane are both closed due to flooding.” 📍North Fork Spring River

    PHELPS COUNTY, Mo. (KOAM) — Early Sunday storms raged across mid-Missouri mostly with rain but some areas had high winds.

    Doolittle Fire Protection District say they were alerted to the Sugartree, Mo. area CR 8490 and CR 8500 (the Sugartree area) due to reports of multiple trees and power lines down.

    Additionally they were alerted to the Jerome, Mo. area. with reports of major damage to multiple structures and power lines down.

    “We arrived in the area and found significant  damage to several structures and many trees either completely uprooted or twisted off at the top. Fortunately no injuries were reported but several livestock were killed.”

    The severity of these storms are unknown. The fire dept say they have prepared an assessment and forwarded information to the US National Weather Service in Springfield.
