North Stone County Food Pantry receives grant
A food pantry serving Stone County has recently received a grant which will allow the organization to help increase the number of families it can serve. The North Stone County Food Pantry, located in Crane, received a total capacity building grant of $6,340 from Ozarks Food Harvest Grant. According to a press release the grant will allow the North Stone County Food Pantry to expand hunger-relief efforts for families in Stone County. $6,100 of the grant is dedicated to the purchase of a storage container and the remaining $240 will go to software to help the pantry to keep more accurate records.

Celeste Bliss injured in Stone County three-vehicle accident
STONE, MO, (June 11, 2024) - A 49-year-old woman was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon in a three-vehicle accident outside of Branson West in Stone County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), 49-year-old Celeste M. Bliss, of Branson, was driving a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe westbound along Missouri Highway 76 at approximately 2:25 p.m. Around that time, a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck traveling in the same direction crashed into the back of the Hyundai, which then collided with a 2020 Subaru Forester before coming to a stop.
Driver Walks Away From Rollover Crash North of Reeds Spring
A vehicle overturns on Highway 160 north of Reeds Spring early Tuesday morning. According to a post from the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District, crews arrived on the scene of the crash near Coon Ridge Road just before 5:00 am and found the driver of the vehicle trapped inside. Rescue personnel had to extricate the driver from the vehicle who was able to walk away from the scene.
More Rain, Storms Hit Region, James River Under Flood Warning
While most of the Lakes Region was spared the strongest of the storms, other areas did receive significant rain and some storm damage. Reports posted by the National Weather Service include some thunderstorm damage in the metro Springfield area with several trees reported down and several areas including parts of Greene, Christian, Douglas, and Ozark Counties and a portion of northeastern Taney County suffering power outages.
