Police take a swipe at ‘slap tagging’
Police Chief Dennis King announced at the Taskforce against Discrimination meeting that arrests have been made regarding the slap tag incidents that occurred in June. King said there have been slap tags placed on a sign at the Jewish Community Center and a sign by the path going up to the high school.
Man sentenced to prison for stealing $32,000 in merchandise from Gucci store at Wrentham outlets
A Washington, D.C., man was sentenced Tuesday in federal court in Boston to stealing $32,000 worth of merchandise from a Gucci store in Massachusetts back in 2021. Linworth Hayes Crawford III, 30, was sentenced in U.S. District Court to eight months in federal prison, to be followed by two years of supervised release. He must also pay $32,000 in restitution to the Gucci store at the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets. He had pleaded not guilty in February to one count of conspiracy to transport stolen goods in interstate commerce and one count of interstate transportation of stolen goods.

Boston police ask public for help investigating Dominican Festival shooting
Boston police are asking the public for help in investigating a shooting at the Dominican Festival Sunday evening in Franklin Park in which five people were shot. Police officers were clearing the streets as the annual festival wrapped up around 8:45 p.m. when multiple gunshots were heard coming from the crowd, police said previously. Three men and two women were shot, but their injuries were all non-life-threatening.
