With SK roots, the Berkshires look to make a strong first impression with debut album
Roughly a year ago, brothers and South Kingstown natives Dave and Zach Ladin returned home to play a gig while living out in Western Massachusetts. With their band known as The Berkshires, they put on a festive experience at Pump House Music Works located on 1464 Kingstown Road in Wakefield and it was a proper return to their roots. Fast forward from then to now, this multi-genre act is self-releasing their self-titled debut album next week. The songs within the upcoming July 25 release hit numerous styles such as folk, funk, blues, reggae and country with a melding of a few of them often occurring as the sequencing goes along. It’s a very cohesive record that has a nice flow that’s apparent to the senses from beginning to end.

You May Be Breaking Some of These Massachusetts Laws Without Knowing It
Massachusetts seems to have a law for everything and while it makes sense for some things others are just strange. As we all know the 4th of July recently passed and Massachusetts is the only state that has a law against consumer fireworks including buying, selling, and using. Some folks agree with this law while others think it's complete nonsense. In addition, this law doesn't seem to be enforced in Massachusetts at least not in my area. So, why even have the law if it's not being enforced? Either way, the law is the law.
Could these four sports become the next to be recognized by the MIAA?
Some new high school sports could be coming to Massachusetts in the near future. If approved, recognition would begin in the 2025-26 school year.

Historians agree that bars in Massachusetts are about as old as the state itself. Early settlers wasted no time setting up local taverns before schoolhouses in some cases. In fact, Massachusetts is home to what are believed to be the oldest bars in the United States like the Green Dragon Tavern which dates back to 1654, or Warren Tavern in Charlestown which was the first building to be erected in Charlestown after the British burned the whole town during the Battle of Bunker Hill in June of 1775.
