    Former treasurer for Storm Lake Firefighters Association sentenced for theft

    STORM LAKE, Iowa (KCAU) — The former secretary and treasurer of the Storm Lake Volunteer Firefighters Association has been sentenced for stealing from the association.

    Jesus Rojo, 29, of Storm Lake, was sentenced on July 1 for stealing more than $10,113.50. On May 6, Rojo pleaded guilty to second-degree theft, a class D felony.

    Rojo has been placed on probation for two years. His sentencing also orders him to pay back the $10,113.50 that was stolen from the association.

    Rojo was the secretary and treasurer of the Storm Lake Volunteer Firefighters Association between January 3 and July 6 and was arrested in September.
