Two people, including a 12-year-old, were hospitalized after a residential fire in Stow early Tuesday morning, according to the Stow Fire Department.

Fire crews responded to a fire at a home on Ridge Meadow Drive around 2 a.m. The 12-year-old boy was reportedly trapped in the basement but was rescued before crews arrived.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a two-story home with heavy fire on the first and second floor and two vehicles on fire in the driveway. Additional ambulances were requested due to the fire's size and the reports of two injured victims.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The house has been described as a total loss. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
