Brattleboro man arrested for DUI after head-on crash in Bradford
Bradford, VT- A crash involving multiple cars in Bradford has led to a Brattleboro man being charged with DUI and gross negligent operation. Bradford police and state troopers responded to Main Street in Bradford, near the intersection with Barton Street around 5 p.m. Wednesday. Police say a Chevy Tahoe driven by Matthew Jackson, 36, from Brattleboro, hit a Toyota Tacoma head one and then kept going towards Barton Street before hitting a pole, causing it to fall onto a parked car.
Grafton Fire Department celebrates 100-year history
GRAFTON, Vt. – On Saturday, July 20, the Grafton Trails and Outdoor Center will host the annual Food and Antique Tractor Festival, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Along with music, food, arts and crafts, a silent auction, and a raffle to win one of two locally made quilts, there will be the opportunity to donate to the Windham County Humane Society through a purchase from Phinney’s Phriends, or a tarot card reading for your dog or cat courtesy of Anuszka.

The Williston-based nonprofit ReSOURCE and the Vermont-New Hampshire chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors graduated their inaugural carpentry apprentice program class in June. Three Vermont students received program certificates: Trenten Mead, Devin Burnell and Caley Martin. They apprenticed with Vermont construction companies ReArch and Bread Loaf.

A new neighborhood is coming to Shelburne, with nearly 100 affordable homes and apartments. The Champlain Housing Trust and Evernorth are joining forces to build Bay Ridge on the former site of the Harbor Place Motel, which CHT purchased in 2013 and used to provide rooms to people experiencing homelessness. The motel also served as a COVID-19 quarantine and isolation site for the State of Vermont, beginning in March 2020.
