Going through airport security may not be the most fabulous part of traveling, but a new TikTok trend could be changing that. It is called “ airport tray aesthetic ” or “TSA tray aesthetic,” where people artfully arrange their otherwise bland bins as they make their way through airport security.

Airport tray aesthetic has become so popular, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials told multiple news outlets the agency is “aware” of the trend. The TSA also pointed out how travelers are doing when it comes to following their rules. For example, the TSA does not require everyone to take off their shoes or sweatshirts, but many people are doing it anyway for the picture.

Like any TikTok trend, this new one raised concerns . Many people spoke out about how this trend could make the already slow and tedious task of going through airport security even more sluggish.

However, it seems TiktTok trendsetters might have thought of everything, with many of them posting about their “hack” for getting a great shot: taking it after they go through security . That way, they do not hold others up as they focus on taking the perfect picture.

Some suggested buying the same bins the TSA uses online and taking the airport tray aesthetic photos before or after a trip. That way, there is never any rush, they can take a better picture and they get the added bonus of having an extra storage bin.
