Stark Sheriff: Expect charges soon over Raychel Sheridan's murder, suspect acted alone
Raychel Sheridan was reported missing Tuesday. Her body was found Wednesday morning by Canton City employees emptying trash in Mother Goose Land Park. Sean Goe, 26, was arrested Wednesday on outstanding warrants for misdemeanor domestic violence and criminal damaging, as well as a felony charge of grand theft of a firearm and burglary.
New victim from June 2 mass shooting identified
More than a month after a shooting occurred during a large birthday party in East Akron, the tally of known gunshot victims continues to grow. The Akron Police Department confirmed to Signal Akron that 29 shooting victims have now been identified. The department told WEWS on Wednesday that two additional victims were identified but amended that figure on Friday. LaTeris Cook, 27, is the only identified fatality from the June 2 incident.
Triway 12U baseball team completes undefeated season
Capping a 16-0 spring, Triway's Bremenour 12U baseball team won the battle for gold in the Gold Game against Chippewa's 12U Funk Team. Great Lakes singer-songwriter Pat Dailey dies at 83
PUT-IN-BAY, Ohio — Pat Dailey, a celebrated Great Lakes singer-songwriter, died Wednesday in his Bay Village, Ohio, home. He was 83. He died “peacefully” overnight, his son Reese Dailey wrote Thursday in a Facebook post. The cause of death was not reported. With his entertaining mix of romantic ballads, bawdy tunes, and party songs, Mr. Dailey has been a fixture at the party island of Put-in-Bay since 1978, packing the crowds at the mammoth Beer Barrel until moving to the more intimate Boathouse Bar in 2007. Since 1984 and until his retirement in 2018, Mr. Dailey was a regular in winter at Sloppy Joe's Bar in Key West.
