LITITZ, Pa. — After a water main break damaged East Main Street in Lititz, Lancaster County, roadwork is underway to make repairs. Crews began milling East Main Street from Broad Street to Cedar Street on Thursday morning. LVEP Golf Tournament Raises Money for College Scholarships
The Lebanon Valley Education Partnership (LVEP), a collaboration between Lebanon Valley College and the Lebanon Student District, celebrated its 35th annual golf tournament at Fairview Golf Course on June 28, netting nearly $40,000 after expenses. Every dollar raised goes directly to funding scholarships that create access to a Lebanon Valley College education for talented students from the Lebanon School District who are part of this unique, community-led mentoring program.
Dr. Barbara Friedes, 30, Killed In Philly Crash
Barbara Ann Friedes, 30, was struck from behind by a 2018 Volkswagen on the 1800 block of Spruce Street around 7 p.m., Philadelphia police wrote in a release. The Volkswagen then hit three parked cars before coming to a rest, police continued. Friedes was taken to Jefferson University Hospital and pronounced dead, while the driver of the Volkswagen was taken to the same hospital with minor injuries, officials said.
