LVEP Golf Tournament Raises Money for College Scholarships
The Lebanon Valley Education Partnership (LVEP), a collaboration between Lebanon Valley College and the Lebanon Student District, celebrated its 35th annual golf tournament at Fairview Golf Course on June 28, netting nearly $40,000 after expenses. Every dollar raised goes directly to funding scholarships that create access to a Lebanon Valley College education for talented students from the Lebanon School District who are part of this unique, community-led mentoring program.
Dr. Barbara Friedes, 30, Killed In Philly Crash
Barbara Ann Friedes, 30, was struck from behind by a 2018 Volkswagen on the 1800 block of Spruce Street around 7 p.m., Philadelphia police wrote in a release. The Volkswagen then hit three parked cars before coming to a rest, police continued. Friedes was taken to Jefferson University Hospital and pronounced dead, while the driver of the Volkswagen was taken to the same hospital with minor injuries, officials said.

Theatre In The X Will Host Free Performances of ONE MONKEY DON'T STOP NO SHOW
Theatre in the X, which was created in 2013 to provide the people of West Philadelphia and the African American community at large the opportunity to see professional quality theater in their own neighborhood for no cost, will present One Monkey Don't Stop No Show, a hilarious and heartfelt play by renowned playwright Don Evans, for their 11th season.
