Riz Ahmed Joins Cast of New Wes Anderson Film

Wes Anderson's getting the gang back together (again) for his new film The Phoenician Scheme but is adding a newcomer to his rotation of players.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Riz Ahmed will join the ensemble cast, which includes Anderson's frequent collaborators Bill Murray and Benicio Del Toro, as well as Michael Cera, Mia Threapleton and Imad Mardnli.

Little more is known about the film, but Anderson has penned the script alongside Roman Coppola, who he has co-written with on multiple projects.

Ahmed won his first Oscar in 2022 for his short film The Long Goodbye , which he co-wrote with director Aneil Karia. Ahmed had become an Oscar-nominated actor the year prior for his turn in Sound of Metal . His most recent role was in the AppleTV+ film Fingernails , which he starred in alongside Jessie Buckley and Jeremy Allen White.

As well as The Phoenician Scheme , Ahmed has three other projects on his upcoming slate, including a modern adaptation of Hamlet from Aneil Karia.
