Hatsune Miku Is Coming To Magic: The Gathering

When you think of Magic: The Gathering, you probably think cards of dragons, wizards, and skeletons. That’s probably going to be correct 99% of the time, too, because a lot of that in the game. The remaining 1%, apparently, is Hatsune Miku.

Wizards of the Coast, a subsidiary of Hasbro, has announced a new collaboration event for Magic: The Gathering which features Hatsune Miku, the virtual idol who’s really been popping up everywhere lately. The Hatsune Miku crossover comes via a Secret Lair drop, which is a limited set of cards that typically aren’t competition legal. We’ve seen Secret Lair collabs in the past, like the Tomb Raider MtG set from last year , but this one is on a whole other level.

Secret Lair x Hatsune Miku: Sakura Superstar will feature six cards, all of which are rebranded versions of existing cards with some gorgeous artwork from artists Jehan Choo, Justyna Dura, Mandy Jurgens, Dani Pendergast, Yudo Shimizu, and Syutsuri. The full cards are as follows:

• 1x Shelter
• 1x Chandra’s Ignition as “Miku’s Spark”
• 1x Harmonize
• 1x Azusa, Lost but Seeking as “Miku, Lost but Singing”
• 1x Feather, the Redeemed as “Miku, the Renowned”
• 1x Inspiring Vantage

A full pack of cards will set you back $29.99 for the standard set, or $39.99 if you want to be a little bit fancy and go with the foil set. That might sound a little bit pricey for just six cards, but consider that these are limited edition cards, and you don’t have to pull them from random boosters — every pack contains every card, so you’re guaranteed to get the whole set.

Secret Lair x Hatsune Miku will go on sale on May 13, 2024 at 9am PDT exclusively on the Secret Lair website , and will likely not be available for long, so if you’re keen on these very unique cards, you’ll want to make sure you’re up and ready to order when they drop.
