Which Pokémon Professor is the Hottest?

    By Oliver Brandt,

    2024-04-16

One of the constants of the Pokémon world is the Pokémon professor. In most video games, they’re the first character you meet, either in the intro or in the opening minutes of the game, but they often play a big role in the Pokémon anime, too.

We were racking our brains to try and find a way to rank all of the professors, but then it came to us: totally subjective attractiveness. In this ranking we’ve taken into account appearance, personality, and fashion sense to come up with a definitive ranking of every Pokémon professor (from the games and a couple from side media) from least attractive to most attractive.

    Professor Oak

    The Pokémon Company

Professor Oak is okay, I guess, but there’s not really a whole lot going on here. Maybe in his prime, Oak could have been a looker, but right now? He’s an old man who’s way too into poetry. Pass.

    Professor Magnolia

    The Pokémon Company

On the other side of the coin as Oak is Magnolia. She’s at least kind of cool, with her stern personality and no-nonsense demeanor, but just like Oak, she’s an old lady with not much going for her.

    Professor Laventon

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=0DuY6r_0t3JmYbP00

    The Pokémon Company

Professor Laventon is just kind of strange. He’s also probably long dead by now, being a researcher in the Hisui region long before the current era, but even if he wasn’t, the eccentric beanie and the weird speech patterns really don’t do much for him.

    Professor Elm

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=2QETkD_0t3JmYbP00

    The Pokémon Company

Elm, the professor from the Johto region, is a bit of a mess. You get the vibe that he’s quite early on in his career, a little bit unsure of himself, and determined to get stuck into researching. The drive is appealing, but his appearance isn’t much to write home about, and he’d probably be too into his work to pay much attention to you. Maybe in a few years.

    Professor Sada

    The Pokémon Company

Sada is an interesting character for a number of reasons, and her ancient clothing is a nice touch. Unfortunately, she’s a bit of a bad mother, and like Elm, is definitely way too into her research. Dope jewelry, though.

    Professor Juniper

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=1uv5Uz_0t3JmYbP00

    The Pokémon Company

Juniper has some major mom vibes, and that’s gotta be appealing to a lot of people. It doesn’t do much for me, but her bright and bubbly personality is fun, and she seems like she’d be very supportive.

    Professor Willow

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=38SC7o_0t3JmYbP00

    The Pokémon Company

Pokémon Go’s Willow is a very helpful and very nice person, helping millions of trainers around the world. He’s got a bit of a salt and pepper vibe going on, which is definitely attractive, but his fashion sense is just all over the place.

    Professor Sycamore

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=33frYK_0t3JmYbP00

    The Pokémon Company

Ah Sycamore, the prince of Kalos and definitely one of the lookers of the franchise. Sycamore dresses a little bit like a 70s adult film star, which is a big knock against him, but the hair is cool, and his personality is definitely up there.

    Professor Kukui

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=2Eoopq_0t3JmYbP00

    The Pokémon Company

Kukui is one cool dude, and despite the obvious OSHA violation in waiting from not wearing a shirt, he does work in Alola, where it gets pretty warm. He’s tanned, laid back, and very supportive of everyone, but alas, he’s already married.

    Professor Turo

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=1p2Kd6_0t3JmYbP00

    The Pokémon Company

Turo, like Sada, is a terrible parent, but dang. What a looker. He looks like a male model, ripped from the front of a box of Nivea for Men or an advertisement for Gillette razors, and the slim-fitting future suit is very flattering.

    Professor Sonia

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=07qPqa_0t3JmYbP00

    The Pokémon Company

Sonia is cute as heck, and certainly knows how to accessorize. She’s got hearts in her hair, hearts on her bag, hearts on her boots — she likes hearts, she knows what she’s about. She’s driven and very straightforward, and sometimes you need somebody like that in your life.

    Professor Birch

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=4HyCGH_0t3JmYbP00

    The Pokémon Company

Birch is a hot mess, in every sense of the phrase. He’s a bit scatterbrained, and it’s honestly a bit wild that he was so easily accosted by a Zigzagoon while carrying three capable Pokémon, but still, he’s a cutie and I would be his apprentice any day of the week.

    Professor Rowan

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=4Drg00_0t3JmYbP00

    The Pokémon Company

Okay, yes, Rowan is old, but he’s got some serious daddy vibes and a deep care for Pokémon. He’s the most fashionable on the list so far, with that incredible coat, the blue vest, and the charming hair styling, and his stern, but warm, personality is just perfect.

    Friede

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=35JzLV_0t3JmYbP00

    The Pokémon Company

Speaking of fashionable, Friede is one heck of a looker. He’s not exactly a Pokémon professor anymore, but it seems like that’s a title you get for life, rather than while you’re practicing, so it still counts. Friede has a tendency to rush in and save the day, like a modern-day Pokémon hero, and he’s incredibly suave in just about every single situation. The pilots jacket and military-style boots do a lot in the looks department, and the goggles complete the ensemble, too.
