James Cameron had some choice words for fans who had critiques of the 4K remasters of his films Aliens and True Lies in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where he also revealed he's working on a new Terminator project.

The three-time Oscar winner was asked by THR what he thought of the backlash, considering many fans who were excited by the remasters felt let down, believing the image quality wasn't as high as they wished or expected it to be.

"When people start reviewing your grain structure, they need to move out of mom's basement and meet somebody," Cameron said. "I'm serious. I mean, are you f*****g kidding me? I've got a great team that does the transfers."

Cameron noted that he, himself, also put work into the remasters, saying, "I do all the color and density work. I look at every shot, every frame, and then the final transfer is done by a guy who has been with me [for years]. All the Avatar films are done that way. Everything is done that way."

He closed his sentiment with, "Get a life, people, seriously."

The fans are speaking up again because Cameron's words hit social media, and those disappointed the first time are even more so now after seeing Cameron's response to their critiques.

@break_gen on X (formerly known as Twitter) said, "This wasn't people splitting hairs over "image quality" it was the image becoming outright worse than prior releases."

Fans also didn't take kindly to being criticized, with @HadrianHarker saying, "It seems strange to criticize the same people who have been obsessively clamoring for these rereleases."

"It's nonsensical to attack people who wanted a better looking version of a film," says @fazzloop.

@Lava_Lander says Cameron's response wasn't surprising, "Absolutely shocked that Cameron doesn't take criticism well. Shocked, I say." and

@ashbanner82 agreed, saying, "This response from James Cameron does not surprise me at all, it is a defensive response to criticism very much in his style."

Nonetheless, James Cameron likely doesn't care much as he has had a big weekend promoting Avatar 3 , which got a new title and release date confirmed at D23 .
