It seems George Clooney has some strong opinions about Quentin Tarantino and David O. Russell, and he didn’t hold back in a pair of recent interviews. First up was Clooney’s retort after Tarantino dissed the Ocean’s Eleven actor and downplayed everything Clooney’s done since 2000.

“Quentin said some sh*t about me recently, so I’m a little irritated by him,” Clooney told Variety . “He did some interview where he was naming movie stars, and he was talking about [Brad Pitt], and somebody else, and then this guy goes, ‘Well, what about George?’ He goes, he’s not a movie star. And then he literally said something like, ‘Name me a movie since the millennium.’ And I was like, ‘Since the millennium? That’s kind of my whole f***ing career.' So now I’m like, all right, dude f*ck off. I don’t mind giving him sh*t.”

Clooney and Tarantino might just be ribbing each other, though Clooney’s response is certainly in keeping with another, equally frank comment he made about director David O. Russell. GQ UK asked Clooney whether a Three Kings reunion could ever happen, and Clooney said, now he’s getting older, he wants to be more selective about his projects.

“The older you get, time allotment is very different,” he said. “Five months out of your life is a lot. And so it’s not just like, ‘Oh, I’m going to go do a really good film, like Three Kings, and I’m going to have a miserable f*ck like David O. Russell making my life hell. Making every person in the crew’s life hell.’ It’s not worth it. Not at this point in my life”

And it’s hard to disagree, really, especially given reports about Russell’s on-set behavior and verbally abusive tirades against actors.

Meanwhile, Clooney and Brad Pitt are gearing up for the release of WOLFS in September 2024, an action comedy about a crack-shot fixer who suddenly finds his plans upended when he’s forced to work with an unlikely partner – a familiar setup, to be sure, though one we haven’t seen many variations on in a long time.
