The Batman Part II Co-Writer Shares New Updates

Earlier this year, fans were devastated to learn that The Batman Part II had been delayed until 2026 , but there's finally been an update about the project that shows things are moving forward.

ScreenRant spoke with Mattson Tomlin, who co-wrote The Batman Part II with director Matt Reeves, who revealed that production will be underway soon.

"It's shooting next year," Tomlin said. "We're gearing up, and I will say that the bar just couldn't be higher. It's the sequel to the first one. But also, Matt [Reeves] is like no other."

Tomlin also paid a compliment to Reeves, saying, "In the five years now that I've been working with him as closely as I have, I've tried to absorb as much as humanly possible from him, and I'm so grateful for the time that I get to spend with him, because he is a true artist who is operating in a world where sometimes art doesn't get to flourish, and he's trying to make something that really matters."

Matt Reeves' The Batman starring Robert Pattinson was a hit with critics and audiences, grossing $772.2 million and landing three Oscar nominations at the 2023 Academy Awards.

Tomlin said he is "psyched for [ The Batman Part II ]" but didn't drop any possible details for what could be to come.
