Jeremy Allen White Prepares to Film Biopic of Bruce Springsteen

Jeremy Allen White is gearing up to play the biggest role of his career as music icon Bruce Springsteen.

The star of The Bear starts filming biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere in November alongside co-star Odessa Young. She plays his love interest, and as a self-confessed Springsteen obsessive, she couldn’t be better suited to the role.

“What you have to understand is I’m probably the biggest Bruce Springsteen fan that I know, maybe second only to my dad,” Young tells Variety . “I grew up in a Springsteen house. I spent both my 15th and 16th birthdays at Springsteen concert. My dad does an annual Springsteen tribute in the spring for charity, where he gets a bunch of his musician friends together to do covers. So when I heard about the film happening, I called my agent and I said, ‘I don’t care if I’m in the background in one scene. I have to be in this movie. A few months later I got the opportunity to audition for it.”

Deliver Me From Nowhere follows Springsteen as he records seminal 1982 album Nebraska . After director Scott Cooper ( The Pale Blue Eye ) offered her the role, Young says she’s been “weeping multiple times a day.” She’ll have a chance to finally meet her hero (or at least, someone pretending to be him) when filming for Deliver Me From Nowhere kicks off.

As well as that, Young’s has another project in the pipeline. She stars opposite Jacob Elordi in upcoming WW2 drama series The Narrow Road to the Deep North . Streaming on Prime Video series, it follows an Australian doctor taken as a prisoner of war during the building of the Burma Railway.
