Daniel Day-Lewis Spotted Shooting New Movie in Manchester

Daniel Day-Lewis is back! The actor was recently spotted filming his new movie on the streets of Manchester.

The Academy Award-winning actor, who’s earned three Best Actor Oscars over a career spanning four decades, is returning to screens in a film reportedly written by his son. It’s the first time Day-Lewis is acting in a film since starring in 2017’s Phantom Thread .

In the leaked on-set images, which were posted by The Daily Mail , Daniel Day-Lewis can be seen driving a motorcycle down busy Manchester streets. Sporting a thick grey moustache, crash helmet, and glasses, he looks unrecognizable from the impeccably styled fashion mogul we previously saw in Phantom Thread .

On the back of his bike is none other than Sean Bean, another veteran British actor. Apparently, the film is called Avelyn , and Bean is playing the role of an ex-soldier. Also, according to rumors, the film is being made by the son of Day-Lewis. His son isn't the only one; Martin Scorsese wants to bring Daniel Day-Lewis out of retirement .

There are no more details at this stage, but given the general grimey vibe of the scenes, it looks to be a grounded British drama.
