Ghostbusters Star Cast as New Hulk in MCU

The star of Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire has been cast as the MCU’s new Hulk, according to reports.

Logan Kim, who also features in 2023 AMC drama The Walking Dead: Dead City , is set to play the role of Amadeus Cho, a 19-year-old mastermind who can turn into the Hulk at will, as reported by DanielRPK .

Cho debuted in 2005 Marvel comic Amazing Fantasy vol. 2 #15 , but he’s never appeared in live-action. Like Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), he can call upon the powers of super strength and regenerative healing to become practically invulnerable.

As with Banner, he also has a tough time grappling with his rageful Hulk persona, which manifests itself in a split personality. In the comics, he manages to eventually regain control and assume a new identity as Brawn. He’s slightly weaker than a fully powered Hulk but much smarter.

As for what movie will be his first, fans speculate he’ll be introduced in the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World . That would follow the steps of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever , which was the first MCU appearance of Iron Heart before her impending series on Disney+.

After all, Sam Smith (Anthony Mackie) has a lot to deal with with Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk on the loose. But hold on, who is Giancarlo Esposito playing in Captain America: Brave New World ?

Cho would be a late addition to Captain America: Brave New World , however. In May 2024 it was reported the film bolted on 22 days of reshoots, which might have added in the character. If he doesn’t appear in the fourth Captain America film, however, we’ll more than likely see him in 2026’s Avengers: Doomsday .

That film probably won’t have all that much time to devote to establishing a completely new character given the dozens of superheroes it’s set to contain, so we might be getting to know Cho before then. In what capacity is still yet to be revealed.
