Ready or Not 2 Will Be a “Banger of a Sequel” Confirm Directors

The breakout film from Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett , Ready or Not , is getting a sequel, and word has it, it's "an absolute f*****g banger," as per Entertainment Weekly .

Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett told EW that the sequel is "getting figured out", and while they didn't want to divulge too much, they said, "What we can say is that there is a script that is an absolute f*****g banger of a sequel."

Ready or Not , led by Samara Weaving, followed one bride whose wedding night goes awry when her in-laws kickstart a game of hide and seek.

"That movie is truly the love of our creative lives in a lot of ways," Gillett told EW.

It received critical acclaim upon release, hitting a Certified Fresh score of 89% on Rotten Tomatoes from 321 reviews. Audiences mirrored that response, giving it 78% from over 5000 reviews.

"We're so proud of what that first movie is, we're so proud of what the sequel is," Gillet told EW, adding, "We're just really excited, and fingers crossed that it gets made."

Samara Weaving is reportedly back on board, per Bettinelli-Olpin, who told EW, "with Searchlight and Samara, they're not gonna let it down".

However, official plans for the project are to be confirmed.

Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett have a new film hitting theaters this month.

Abigail , starring Kathryn Newton, Giancarlo Esposito, Dan Stevens, Kevin Durand, Alisha Weir and Melissa Barrera, follows a group that kidnaps a young ballerina who's the daughter of a powerful underworld figure. The group quickly discovers, however, that the daughter is no normal girl. They now face a long night ahead where they must fight for their lives.
