Tannersville, PA-- Officers from the Pocono Township Police Department were called to Camelback Lodge in the early evening of February 6, 2024, to confront a guest whose behavior had spiraled out of control. Upon their arrival, they found a chaotic scene: a 33-year-old New York man, Jonathan Vidal, was involved in a series of violent altercations with security officers.

According to the officers, Vidal was first reported for causing a ruckus in the resort's bar area. Witnesses stated that he was asked to leave after displaying aggressive behavior, which included the disturbing act of spitting in a security officer's face. These actions led to his prompt eviction from the public area to his private room, but the situation only intensified.

In his room, Vidal's aggressive actions spilled over as he continued to fight with security, eventually leading him to assault a female guest who had interceded in an attempt to calm him down. This woman, along with resort staff and additional security, were thankfully unharmed physically, though likely traumatized by the incident.

The responding officers also noted that Vidal appeared to be under severe intoxication, a factor that was likely contributing to his belligerent conduct. As the police intervened, they subsequently arrested him on charges including Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana, Harassment, and Public Drunkenness. He awaits his court date after being arraigned and given a $15,000 secure bail.

Public safety, as well as the safety of fellow guests and employees, lies in the proper conduct of individuals. The local community remains grateful to the swift and efficient response of the Pocono Township Police Department for diffusing the dangerous situation.

Residents and all visitors are strongly encouraged to maintain exemplary behavior while visiting the Poconos, as law enforcement in the area is diligently working to uphold safety for all.

Pennsylvania needs to play by the rules you can't charge one person one price for bail and somebody within your state another price for bail that's against somebody's constitutional rights I would say
