    NASCAR, Broadway singers, mobile mammograms, more set for July in Poconos | Kulick

    Sharpen your pencil and get ready to fill in the rest of your July calendar! From July 12 through the end of the month there is a never-ending number of events for all ages that can keep you and the rest of the family busy!

    July 12 to 14 is the NASCAR Race Weekend at Pocono Raceway! NASCAR fans will find tons of activities for the whole family. Kids 12 and under are free all weekend. For more information or tickets, visit www.poconoraceway.com/tickets/nascar-tickets.

    On Saturday, July 13 (rain date July 14), Middle Smithfield Township will be holding its Community Day and Touch-a-Truck event from noon to 3 p.m. The event is located at Echo Lake Park on Milford Road. For more information, call 570-223-8920.

    Part one:July brings fireworks, jazz, flower show, more to the Poconos | Kulick

    Movies in the Park, hosted by Stroud Recreation, will feature Monty Python on July 15, being held at the Pocono Cinema in East Stroudsburg beginning at 7 p.m. The movie is free, but a $5 donation is appreciated. The next Movie in the Park (Miller Park in East Stroudsburg) will be held on July 19, “How to Train Your Dragon,” beginning at 8:15 p.m. (Do bring a blanket or chair.)

    On Sunday, July 14, at 4 p.m., the Pocono Center for the Arts returns at Shawnee Inn with its Broadway Summer Celebration. The event brings Broadway musical stars who will be supported by local theater company members of The Shawnee Playhouse and will also feature an appearance by violin prodigy Gabriella Salvador-Riera.     Perhaps you have always wanted to know more about drones and maybe even considered a career as a drone pilot. Then July 16 at 6 p.m., make your way to the Eastern Monroe Public (Hughes) Library in Stroudsburg. An hour program on drones and all things drones will be presented by William Browder, a certified Unmanned Aircraft Systems pilot. For more information call 570-421-0800, ext. 317.

    Because a woman’s health (and men too) can be affected by breast cancer, Lehigh Valley Heath Network Topper Cancer Institute’s Mobile Mammography Coach will be present at state Sen. Rosemary Brown’s office at 2398 Route 611, Scotrun, on July 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. To make an appointment for the day call 888-402-LVHN, although walk-ins will be welcome based on availability.

    On Saturday, July 20, join the Monroe County Garden Club on their Garden Tour (rain date July 21) through Stroudsburg. The starting location is 717 Bryant St., Stroudsburg, and the tour fee is $20 per person. For more information, contact ephraner@ptd.net.

    July 23, there is a presentation of Pinocchio and Robin Hood for ages 3 and up presented by Bright Star Theatre. Two presentation locations, Smithfields Library at 10 a.m. and Hughes Library at 1 p.m. No reservations needed.

    Pocono Township presents Concert in the Park at 114 Municipal Lane in Tannersville on Thursday, July 25, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. All are welcome, and family activities are planned.

    From July 25 through July 27, the Moscow Country Street Fair will be held on Main, Church and Van Brunt streets in Moscow. The fair runs from 4 p.m. through 9 p.m. each day.

    Prefer to explore a community yard sale? The Bushkill Fire Company Auxiliary is hold one on Saturday, July 27, at Middle Smithfield Elementary School on Milford Road, East Stroudsburg. For more information, visit www.bushkillfirecompanyauxiliary.com.

    Rounding out the month are several events, two on Sunday, July 28. The Brodhead Watershed Association Hike the Poconos event features a visit to the Tannersville Cranberry Bog beginning at 9 a.m. For more information, call 570-839-1120.

    Mady’s Snow Day, a yearly favorite event, is from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. on July 28 at Eagles Rest Cellars, 107 Eagles Rest Lane, Stroudsburg (Cherry Valley). The event is the largest fundraiser for Mady’s Angels (www.madysangels.org), a nonprofit that supports dozens of organizations and causes throughout the area. The event features music and other activities and it will SNOW!

    Hope that pencil was sharpened because you’ve got a lot of fun and more ahead of you in July!
