    NWS: Pike, Wayne could see 'isolated to scattered severe storms' Wednesday

    Parts of the Poconos could see severe storms on Wednesday.

    The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook that includes Pike and Wayne counties.

    "Isolated to scattered severe storms will be possible this afternoon and evening. Damaging winds and heavy rain will be the main threats," the NWS said.

    Carbon and Monroe counties are not included in the hazardous weather outlook. The NWS forecast for Stroudsburg does include a chance of showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday, with an 80% chance of precipitation.

    Carbon and Monroe counties are under a heat advisory until 8 p.m. with heat index values up to 95 degrees expected.
