STUART — Eastbound lanes of the Evans Crary Bridge, which links Stuart and Sewall’s Point reopened Friday afternoon as authorities spent several hours investigating a fatal crash involving a bicyclist, according to the Martin County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff’s officials reported that the crash, which happened before 7 a.m., is being investigated by Florida Highway Patrol. The bridge's eastbound lanes reopened after 1 p.m. as investigators cleared the scene, according to Sewall's Point officials, who alerted residents via email.

FHP officials did not immediately respond Friday to a request for information.
