    Three Rivers volleyball moves to 3-0 in league play

    THREE RIVERS — Three Rivers improved to 3-0 in Wolverine Conference action on the volleyball courts on Thursday.

    The Lady Wildcats swept Vicksburg outta town in the match at 25-21, 25-21 and 25-23.

    On the evening, Miley Southland passed out 21 assists for the Cats. She added three kills and three aces while Tori Thorbjornsen totaled 21 digs and Natalie Bachinski registered eight digs with two aces. London Hoffmaster added eight kills with four digs and two blocks.

    Three Rivers got a team-high seven kills from Dani Glass and Bekah Beachey.

    On Saturday, the Cats won the Silver Bracket at the Portage Northern Invitational. TR beat Paw Paw 25-15, 25-20, split with Bronson at 22-25, 26-24 and lost to Unity Christian 15-25, 13-25 in pool play. This put them in the Silver Bracket, where the Wildcats beat Sturgis 20-25, 25-19 and 15-5; St. Joseph 25-20, 25-16 and eventually Otsego 23-25, 25-15 and 20-18 to win the silver.

    Southland passed out 86 assists with 10 kills, six blocks and five aces while Thorbjornsen totaled 81 digs and six aces. Hoffmaster registered 27 kills with three blocks, Allie Yost finished with 23 kills, 24 digs and seven aces. Glass scored 21 kills and 47 digs, Beachey added 19 kills. Bachinski finished with 34 digs and three kills.

    White Pigeon beats Schoolcraft

    The White Pigeon volleyball team beat Schoolcraft on Thursday in five sets. The Lady Chiefs won the second 25-20, the fourth 25-19 and the fifth 15-13. Schoolcraft won 25-13 in the first and 25-18 in the third.

    "This was a huge team win tonight," White Pigeon coach Melissa Gales said. "These girls showed the mental and emotional toughness I've know they had in them. I'm proud of their positivity and mostly grit."

    Shelby McDaniel had nine kills in the match, Ellie McBride scored nine kills as well with 20 digs and four assists. Sadie McDaniel recorded eight kills with five digs and four blocks, Kenlee Schrader passed out 20 assists with six kills and 11 digs. Layla Abner totaled two kills, two assists, three aces and 34 digs while Mable Post totaled three kills and 25 digs. Grace Bontrager totaled 16 digs.

    Colon wins over Factoryville

    The Colon volleyball team beat Factoryville on Tuesday in four sets. The Lady Magi actually lost the opening set at 25-17, but battled back to win 25-10, 25-21 and 25-20 in the final three.

    "Factoryville held their own tonight, I give them a lot of credit producing the team they have from the small school that they are," Colon coach Michelle Walkinhood said.

    Leading the way was Raegan Thaxton with nine kills, Savannah Meyers scored seven kills and Taylor Wilson finished with six kills. Allie Vinson handed out 12 assists and Peighton Stouder registered six assists. Jill Stabler totaled four digs with three aces.

    Burr Oak plays to 1-1 record this week

    Burr Oak won and lost a match on the volleyball court this week. On Thursday, the Lady Bobcats beat Pittsford in three sets at 25-16, 25-6 and 25-18.

    Braylyn Hernandez handed out 21 assists in the match with 13 digs and four kills. Sarah Hirschy scored 10 kills and seven digs while Cristal Hernandez totaled seven kills and five digs. Brooklynn Root added seven kills and Makaila Whittington had four kills with four digs. Saryia Cornejo, Inez Ultz and Addison Eldridge each had three digs, Linda Ultz totaled eight digs.

    On Tuesday, the Bobcats fell to Battle Creek St. Philip in four sets. The Fighting Tigers won the first set 25-15, the second 25-16 and the third 25-22. Burr Oak won the second at 25-11.

    Hirschy totaled 17 kills and 12 digs with three blocks, Braylyn Hernandez handed out 20 assists with 13 digs and three aces. Whittington scored six kills and four blocks, Cristal Hernandez added 13 digs and three kills while Eldridge was in on 11 digs.

    Constantine tops Martin

    The Constantine volleyball team beat Marin 25-15, 25-18 and 25-16 on Tuesday.

    “The entire coaching staff could not be more proud of how the Lady Falcons played tonight," coach Tiffany Lewis said. "They played level and fought through rough patches together. It truly was a great night to be a Falcon."

    Jozee Buglione scored nine kills, Meah Evans finished with eight, Sienna Salisbury added five and Jaedyn Herlein scored four. Anndee Evans and Buglione both had three aces. Salisbury led with four blocks.

    Meah Evans had 14 assists, Anndee Evans handed out nine. Buglione led with 17 digs, Salisbury added 16.

    Centreville beats White Pigeon

    The Centreville volleyball team beat White Pigeon on Tuesday in four sets. The Bulldogs won by sores of 25-20, 25-10, 23-25 and 25-10.

    "Going into the match, we know the Chiefs will always bring a fight," Centreville coach Deric Mostrom said. "If we let them get going and get some energy, they will hurt just about any team they match up with. We know we had to take care of a few things tonight and for the most part we did."

    Kali Evans scored three kills, three aces, eight digs, two blocks and handed out 28 assists in the match. Mary Stears had four kills with 11 digs and Drew Alexander scored 22 digs with six aces. Emerson Hackett finished with seven kills and seven digs, Ariana Six registered 10 digs.

    Mara Webb totaled nine kills, nine digs, three blocks and three aces. Kaelyn Sneed finished with four kills, Livia Jacobs had two kills. Mia Yoder finished with seven kills and three digs.

    On Monday, Centreville played at Vicksburg and went 1-1. The Bulldogs beat Allegan 25-12, 26-24 and 25-13 but fell to Vicksburg 25-19, 25-13 and 25-23.

    Evans handed out 35 assists with 11 kills and 16 digs, Stears put down 10 kills with nine digs and Webb finished with 16 kills and 17 digs. Six totaled 12 digs, Yoder scored seven kills with three blocks.
