    Park runs to first place for Sturgis cross country

    STURGIS — Sturgis hosted Niles and Otsego in cross country action on Tuesday evening. The Trojan boys beat Niles 25-32 but fell to Otsego 38-22. The Trojan girls beat Niles 25-32 as well, but fell to Otsego 36-23.

    Nolan Park ran to first place for Sturgis in the boy's race at 16:55. Benji Morales finished fifth overall at 17:52.

    For the girls, Berkley Holtz came in second at 19:09, Sydney Bir was fifth at 20:28 and Tessa Hatt finished sixth at 20:55.

    Sturgis also got an 11th-place finish for the boys with Micaiah Arreola (18:46) and Niko Morales finished 15th (19:03) while George Ebert came in 16th with a time of 19:18. Henry Ebert's time of 19:29 was good for 17th position at Caleb Hohn came in 18th at 19:54.

    For the girls, Kenzie Eicher came in 12th position at 22:22 and Eleanor Park finished 13th at 22:23. Carolina Garcia posted a time of 23:03 for 14th.

    SCAA Jamboree at Athens

    Athens hosted a SCAA cross country jamboree on Tuesday. Hillsdale Academy won both races, the Colon boys finished third and the Burr Oak girls were third as well.

    Mendon did not have enough runners to qualify for a team score. Presley Allen ran to first place in the girl's race at 21:24, Rowan Allen finished second overall at 21:36.

    Burr Oak was led by Braylyn Hernandez in 12th at 25:21, Linda Ultz placed 16th at 26:10 and Inez Ultz came in 25th (31:58).

    Mendon's Ben Iobe placed third for the boys at 18:11. Kyron Christner came in 12th at 20:13. Colon was led by Dalton Williams in 21st at 21:41 and Carter Hetman (21:43) in 22nd.

    Bronson at Union City

    The Bronson cross country teams ran at Union City on Tuesday. The Chargers won both events, scoring 23 points for the boys and 47 for the girls.

    Bronson came in second in both, posting 79 points for the boys and 50 for the girls.

    Ava Hathaway ran to first place for the Bronson girls at 19:28 and Ashlynn Harris came in second at 19:59. Alonna Goodell finished seventh with a time of 21:34 and Lydia Wells completed the course at 23:17 for 16th. Abbi Ferry's time of 25:21 was 26th overall.

    The Bronson boys were led by Tyler Wilber in 12th at 18:42, Adam Franks finished 15th at 18:52. Brayton Cosby finished 16th (19:08), Jovani Ramos finished 17th (19:22) and Carter Sikorski came in 19th at 19:38.

    Three Rivers sweeps Vicksburg

    The Three Rivers cross country teams beat Vicksburg on Tuesday evening.

    The boys won 23-36 and moved into a tie for first place with a dual meet record of 4-1. The girls won 17-40 and are 2-3.

    Sulley Zietlow led the boys in second place overall at 17:13, Charlie Brauer came in third at 17:28. Reece Howes finished fifth (17:55), David Kore came in sixth at 18:18 and Trey Hall ran to eighth at 19:00.

    Gabby Kilbourn won the girl's race at 21:16. Brynn Copenhaver finished second overall (21:51) and Lillie Kerr (22:01) came in third position. Savannah Headley ran a time of 23:31 for fifth place and Sarela Cruz finished sixth at 23:52.
