Another day, another Colleen Hoover adaptation. Hoover’s 2019 novel, Regretting You , is being adapted into a feature film starring multiple familiar faces.

Regretting You , which is Hoover’s 22nd book, follows Morgan and Clara Grant, a mother and teenage daughter duo who are nothing alike: Morgan, who put her dreams on hold to get married and have Clara at a young age, is determined to prevent her daughter from making the same mistakes she did; while Clara views her mother’s lack of spontaneity as the main difference between the two.

Told in both Morgan and Clara’s perspectives, Regretting You is a story about grief, betrayal, family, and one of Hoover’s only novels to revolve around a mother and daughter instead of a romantic couple (though there’s plenty of your typical CoHo romance too.)

Who’s in the Regretting You cast?

Deadline announced in 2024 a movie adaptation of Regretting You was in the works from Constantin Films. Robert Kulzer, Brunson Green, and Anna Todd (the author behind the After books) are set to produce the film.

The announcement also came days after Hoover’s first book-to-movie adaptation— It Ends With Us —premiered in theaters with Blake Lively, Brandon Sklenar, and Justin Baldoni as the leads. Another of Hoover’s books, Verity , is also in the works for a feature film at Amazon MGM Studios. With the CoHo cinematic universe expanding, check out who’s been announced as part of Regretting You cast so far ahead.
