Lamar announced his headlining spot in a short video. “My name is Kendrick Lamar , and I will be performing at Super Bowl 59. Will you be pulling up? I hope so,” the rapper said. “You know it’s only one opportunity to win a championship — no round twos.” The latter statement refers to his beef with Drake that’s been the hot topic of the rap community this past summer. It’s also a clap back at Drake when he rapped “Big as the Super Bowl” in his diss track “First Person Shooter,” but the Canadian rapper hasn’t performed at the event at all.
