Grant Ellis, a 30-year-old Day Trader from Newark, New Jersey, was one of 25 contestants on The Bachelorette Season 21 with Jenn Tran . Grant received Jenn’s first group date rose after a comedy roast date in Melbourne, Australia, in Week 2. However, he was eliminated right before the Hometown Dates in Week 6.
Weeks later, ABC announced that Grant was picked as the next season’s Bachelor for season 29 of The Bachelor . “I’m looking for a love that’s kind and understanding,” he said on Good Morning America. “Some qualities I’m looking for in a potential partner is somebody who’s adventurous, somebody who’s affectionate and somebody who’s loving,” he continued. “I can’t wait for this incredible journey to get kicked off; it’s going to be so fun and I hope you guys tune in. As of writing this, Grant Ellis is still set to be the Bachelor for season 29. Reality Steve dispelled the rumors that Grant was dumped from the reality show franchise weeks before filming. An article from the site Daily News reported that “something so great” and “shocking” happened to Grant that producers thought it would be “impossible” to continue the show after a secret came out.
