"When she exited the restroom, she found that the store had been closed for the night and no staff members were present. She then unlocked the front door to leave and triggered the alarm." Newark Citizen's Alert Leads to Arrest of Man with "Ghost Gun" and Drugs
Over this past weekend, a keen-eyed citizen's alert to the Newark Police led to the apprehension of a 28-year-old male who was found asleep at the wheel of an unattended vehicle with its doors open at a Newark intersection. The Newark Police Department reported that officers who responded to the call discovered the man at a stop sign near Marshlands Road and Thornton Ave, alongside a loaded, unserialized firearm—a "ghost gun"—in a duffle bag on the passenger seat. According to the Newark Police Department, the man was detained and is now facing charges, including drug possession and possessing the unregistered firearm. He was booked at the Santa Rita Jail.
