    3 injured after wrong-way driver crashes head-on into Jeep on LI highway

    NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man driving the wrong way on a Long Island highway caused a crash that left three people injured over the weekend, Suffolk County police said.

    On Sunday, around 9:35 p.m., Jimmy Graham, 40, was driving an Audi A8 westbound on the eastbound side of the Sunrise Highway Service Road at Malts Avenue when his car crashed head-on with a Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling eastbound.

    Graham, 40, of Central Islip, was ejected from his car during the accident. He was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in critical condition.

    The 43-year-old driving the Jeep was taken to South Shore University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

    The Jeep driver's 32-year-old wife was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

    Both cars were impounded for safety checks.

    Suffolk County police are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
