Suffolk Public Works announced the activation of a new traffic signal at the intersection of Manning Road, Northbrooke Avenue, and Route 58, effective Saturday, Sept. 14.

As part of this change, the existing signal at Grove Avenue will be deactivated and retired on the same day, although its physical removal may occur later in the week. Beginning Sept. 14, drivers are encouraged to use Northbrooke Avenue and the new signal. Additionally, left turns from Grove Avenue onto eastbound Route 58 will be prohibited. Traffic exiting Grove Avenue will only be restricted to right turns onto westbound Route 58.

Beginning Monday, Sept. 16, Staley Avenue will be closed at Route 58 for paving work. The closure is expected to last through Thursday, Sept. 19. While Staley Avenue is closed, the exit from the Food Lion shopping center will remain open. A signed detour will direct motorists on Staley Avenue to Manning Road and the new traffic signal.
