12:41 p.m. update: Zeigler confirmed that Paul D. Camp Community College’s Suffolk Campus will reopen at 2:00 p.m. with classes and activities resuming as scheduled.

11:39 a.m. update:  In a statement, Zeigler confirmed that Paul D. Camp Community College’s “Franklin Campus and the Camp Center at Smithfield have reopened to students and staff as of 11:15 a.m.,” and that the Suffolk Campus “remains inaccessible until further notice.”

Paul D. Camp Community College was evacuated for what the school has called an “emergency situation” Monday morning affecting all campuses.

Jeffrey Zeigler, Paul D. Camp Community College Director of Institutional Advancement stated, “The Suffolk campus was evacuated for a cautionary situation. Students and staff are not allowed on campus until further notice.”

We are working to gather more details, for now. The school has asked students and faculty to stay away from campus at this time.
