Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the 300 block of East Washington Street for a commercial structure fire. The incident was dispatched at 12:49 p.m. with the first fire units arriving on scene at 12:52 p.m.

First crews on scene arrived to find moderate smoke conditions and a fire in the kitchen in an apartment on the third floor of the building. A primary search determined that all occupants were able to safely exit the structure on their own. The fire was quickly extinguished and crews ventilated the structure.
