Rule change: Wrestlers now inbounds with one point of contact
Beginning with the 2024-25 season, high school wrestlers will be inbounds with only one point of contact of either wrestler inside or on the boundary line. According to an article posted by the TSSAA, this fundamental change to high school wrestling was one of six major changes impacting almost 30 rules recommended by the NFHS Wrestling Rules Committee at its April 1-3 meeting in Indianapolis. (RV) Butler Defeats Drake After Wild First Half
DES MOINES, Iowa – The Butler women's soccer team remained undefeated on the season with a 5-3 win on the road at Drake. The (RV) Bulldogs (2-0-1) fell behind, 0-2, in the first ten minutes of the match, but then scored three in a row to take a one-goal lead. Drake (0-2-1), out of the Missouri Valley Conference, responded immediately, leveling the score at three, but Butler put in two more by the halftime break to pull ahead, 5-3. After eight total goals in the first half, neither side could find the back of the net after returning from the locker room.
Salsa on the Square returns
The fourth annual Salsa on the Square returns to downtown Noblesville from 6 to 11 p.m. Aug. 30 on Logan Street. The ticketed event for people 21 and older includes food trucks, a cocktail garden, salsa lessons by Latin Expressions Dance Co. and live music by DJ Mambo Sound. Tickets are $12 and will be on sale until the event.
Fishers swim club announces new coaches
Southeastern Swim Club of Fishers has hired a new head coach who will join the organization in June 2025. Jeff Thompson previously coached the Terre Haute Torpedoes for 17 years and at the Germantown Academy in Pennsylvania for 10 years and had four athletes at the 2024 USA Olympic Swimming Trials.

After two years of disuse, Ross Hall will reopen its doors in the 2026-2027 academic year as a boutique hotel. Following restoration efforts, the university and Hilton plan to break ground on the development of the hotel in spring 2025.
Garcia clinches USF2000 title in style at Portland as Argyros wins
An intense climax to the USF2000 Presented by Continental Tire season began Saturday morning at Portland International Raceway with Pabst Racing’s Max Garcia taking a hard-fought victory. It was enough to wrap up the championship in style. Later in the day, a thrilling first half of the final race witnessed USF2000 competition at its finest with a sensational six-car scrap for the lead. Sadly, a chaotic series of incidents blighted the second half of the race and concluded with rookie G3 Argyros, from Newport Beach, Calif., surviving to claim an unlikely maiden victory after having lined up 14th on the starting grid.
