Sugar Hill Could Be Getting a Chipotle

A new ground-up Chipotle is proposed for Sugar Hill.

The fast-casual Mexican restaurant would be built at 5962 Cumming Highway, according to construction plans. The 2,325-square-foot freestanding building would include a pick-up window, according to the documents. Renderings also indicate plans for outdoor patio space.

The site for the proposed restaurant is adjacent to Zaxby’s and across from Kroger.

There are more than 3,200 Chipotle locations in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France and Germany. According to Chipotle, they are the only restaurant company of this size that owns and operates all its restaurants in North America and Europe. The menu includes burritos, bowls, tacos, quesadillas and salads.

There are currently 103 Chipotle restaurants in Georgia . This would be the first in Sugar Hill.

Chipotle fans in other areas of the state can get excited too: The restaurant is expected to take over a shuttered Krystal in Ellijay and a former bank in Flowery Branch .
