Grier City Union Sunday School yard sale
The Grier City Union Sunday School will have a yard sale Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days from the church at 202 Grier Ave., in Grier City, Rush Township. Sunday School member Linda Light, is shown among the clothing, household items, books, toys and more. Volunteers will also be selling haluski, sloppy joes, turkey barbecue, hot dogs and baked goods. All proceeds will help maintain the historic Sunday school and support programming. Sunday school is held at 9:45 a.m. on Sundays. All are welcome. First responders plan Night Out events in area communities
SHENANDOAH – Next month, first responders in three area communities will hold events to help connect the community with those who serve. Coaldale woman charged with animal cruelty
A Coaldale woman was charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty and neglect related to the May rescue of 17 dogs and other animals from her property in May. Coaldale police charged Bethany Bachert, 70, of Bull Run Street, Friday on six counts of felony aggravated cruelty to animals; 18 counts of misdemeanor cruelty to animals; 17 counts of misdemeanor neglect of animals for failing to provide food and water; and 11 counts of misdemeanor neglect of animals for failing to provide necessary veterinary care.
