LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - All lanes are now open in both directions after two separate accidents stopped traffic on the I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge, Westlake police said. Westlake Police Chief Chris Wilrye said officers received a call about an accident on I-10 East and a vehicle on fire on I-10 West within minutes of each other shortly after 5:00 p.m.

Three Acadiana men have been sentenced in federal court for their roles in a kidnapping scheme that reached from Los Angeles to Louisiana. Cody Lajohn Williams, 31, of Breaux Bridge; Drapper Lavar Anthony Jr., 27, of Youngsville; and Joseph Lawrence Harrison, 27, of St. Martinville, were identified as members of the ATM Gang during a multi-agency press conference Friday at the federal courthouse in Lafayette.

Man arrested after crashing into Jennings business, running away, police say
JENNINGS, La. (KPLC) - A Welsh man was arrested after authorities said he crashed his truck into a building and ran off. Garrett Delane Sterling, 35, crashed his truck into a State Farm building on Elton Road Thursday, Jennings police said. He then led police on a foot chase before being taken into custody.

Pedestrian killed in Oakdale crash, state police say
OAKDALE, La. (KPLC) - Louisiana State Police are investigating a crash in Allen Parish that claimed the life of a Missouri man. Shortly after 4 this morning, Michael Hicks, 21, of Mexico, Missouri, was walking west across La. 372 just south of Tyler Road in Oakdale, state police said. At the same time, a car was traveling south on La. 372. For reasons still under investigation, Hicks, who was wearing dark clothing, stepped into the path of the vehicle and was hit.
