Kingsport, Sullivan outpace Tennessee on 3rd, 4th grade reading tests
BLOUNTVILLE — Sullivan County and Kingsport City schools this year both have outpaced the Tennessee average for standardized reading test in 3rd and 4th grades. According to information from the Tenenssee Department of Education on statewide averages and from the two local systems on their performance, the two local systems have exceeded the state average in students reading at the proficient or better level.
