CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Celebratory golf cart brigades are happening across the Lowcountry for Independence Day!

    Sullivan’s Island

Sullivan’s Island golf cart and bike parade will begin at 9 a.m. at Sunrise Presbyterian Church and end at Sullivan’s Island Elementary School.

Sullivan’s Island officials said the event will take place rain or shine.

Registration is available at Town Hall from June 17 to July 3. Once registration is closed attendees can still join the parade after the registered participants, but will not be considered in the judging.

After the parade, festivities will begin at the finish line. Sullivan’s Island says Kona Ice will be provided for everyone, the Fire Department will hose down willing kids, and the winning carts/bikes will get their awards.

    Isle of Palms

The City of Isle of Palms will have its golf cart parade on July 4th starting at 10 am. at 4th and Ocean Blvd. City officials say over 100 carts participated last year.
