    Hoelscher, Hrabal collect 10 kills each

    BIRTHRIGHT — The North Hopkins Lady Panthers found the win column again Tuesday following a four-set victory over the Pittsburg Lady Pirates at W.S. Long Gymnasium. Over the course of the game, the Lady Panthers played consistently and never let their guard down, leading to a convincing win.

    The Lady Panthers got off to a fast start in the opening set, while the Lady Pirates struggled early on. North Hopkins won the first set 25-14, taking the lead.

    In the second set, the Lady Panthers continued to play at a high level, as the Lady Pirates couldn’t find a way to slow them down. The Lady Panthers won the second set 25-11, extending their lead to 2-0.

    The third set was a high-scoring affair, with both teams lighting up the scoreboard. Though the Lady Panthers played well, they couldn’t close out the game, as the Lady Pirates won the third set 25-22 to force a fourth set.

    In the fourth set, both teams continued to play hard, with another high-scoring set. Eventually, down 22-13 in the set, the Lady Panthers stole the set with 12 unanswered points, winning 25-22 and polishing off a four-set win.

    Hadlee Hrabal led the way with 17-dig, 10-kill double-double, also recording a team-high six aces. Eden Lewis led an assists with 15, also tacking on six digs, three kills and one ace.

    Daylee Fite came away with 13 digs and one ace. Macey Hoelscher shared the title of kills leader with Hrabal, recording 10 kills of her own to go along with six digs and two assists.

    Stevanna Buchanan totaled nine assists, six digs and five aces. Jacie Boles was a solid presence with seven kills, two blocks, one ace and one dig.

    Cadence Money came up with three kills, two assists, two digs and one block. Also contributing to the win were Fern Hernandez with two digs; and Kaidence Godbolt with one block and one dig.

    With the win, the Lady Panthers improved to 6-2 on the season. They resumed action Thursday and Saturday, hosting the North Hopkins Tournament. They also took on the Axtell Lady Longhorns in a non-district game Friday.
