    DAINGERFIELD — The Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears earned a road victory Tuesday night by taking down the Daingerfield Lady Tigers in four sets. After dropping the first set, the Lady Bears elevated their game to a new level, winning the next three sets and taking home the win.

    The opening set was a closely contested one, with both teams going back and forth on the scoreboard. Ultimately, the Lady Tigers outlasted the Lady Bears 25-21, taking the initial lead.

    The second set saw the Lady Bears step up their game, as the Lady Tigers struggled to keep up. The Lady Bears won the second set 25-14, evening the score at 1-1.

    In the third set, the Lady Bears continued their strong gameplay, as the Lady Tigers’ struggles persisted. The Lady Bears cruised to a 25-11 win in the third set, pulling ahead 2-1.

    The Lady Bears continued to play well in the fourth set, as Daingerfield simply had no answers for them. Sulphur Bluff capped off the game by winning the fourth set 25-14, clinching a fourset victory.

    Zaylee Peyton was a strong presence with 23 digs, eight kills and four aces. Ana Servin also recorded double-digit digs with 18, adding one kill.

    Vada Kendall led in assists with 22, and aces with seven, also recording one kill. Emma Carr finished with nine digs, two kills, one ace and one block.

    Emily Melton totaled seven digs and two aces. Yulisa Castillo came away with six kills, a team-high five blocks, and three digs.

    Emerson Fite recorded six kills, four digs, one block and one ace. Other contributors to the win include Kadence Smith with two digs; and Kinder Stanley with two kills.

    With the win, the Lady Bears improved to 3-5 on the season. They resumed action Thursday, competing in the North Hopkins Tournament.
