Lady Trojans beat Fate PTAA in four

FATE — The Cumby Lady Trojans won their third straight game Friday by taking down the Fate Pioneer Technology and Arts Academy (PTAA) Lady Panthers in four sets. Over the course of the game, the Lady Trojans played hard and tough, outplaying the Lady Panthers when it mattered most for the win.

The opening set saw the Lady Trojans get off to a fast start, while the Lady Panthers lagged behind. The Lady Trojans won the first set 25-16, taking the lead.

In the second set, both teams played hard and tough, trading points for its entirety. Though the Lady Trojans played well, the Lady Panthers edged out a 26-24 win, tying the score at 1-1.

The Lady Trojans stepped up their game in the third set, determined not to lose control. Cumby cruised their way to a 2514 win, pulling ahead 2-1.

In the fourth set, the Lady Panthers tried to claw back, but their efforts were too little, too late. The Lady Trojans went on to win the fourth set 25-18, capping off a four-set victory.

With the win, the Lady Trojans improved to 4-1 in district and 6-20 overall. They resumed action Tuesday, welcoming the Wolfe City Lady Wolves to Cumby Gymnasium.
