Wildcats place first at opening tourney

YANTIS — The Sulphur Springs Wildcats golf team recently competed in their first tournament of the season. They began their season by placing first out of 10 teams with a score of 303.

Three golfers placed in the top-five individually: Gage Gideon, first with a score of 74; Nick Burney; fourth with a score of 75; and Tatum Tran, fifth with a score of 76.

Rounding out the scores were Luke White, 78; and Noah Newsom, 83.

The Wildcats’ next tournament is Oct. 22 at the Sulphur Springs Country Club.
